Not all gold coins need to be graded in the “Gold” tier. If you have coins that are valued at less than £1,500 and minted before 1955 they can be entered in modern tier. If however they are minted before 1955 OR valued at over £1,500 and under £2,500 they need to be graded in the Gold Tier.
This covers modern high value gold coins such as some five pounds and some 2oz gold coins and many older sovereigns and older bullion coins.
